School Resource Officer

The La Verne Police Department and Bonita Unified School District have assigned School Resource Officers to two schools in the city of La Verne .  A School Resource Officer (SRO) is assigned full-time to the campuses of Bonita High School and Ramona Middle School .  The SRO serves as a liaison between the school district and the police department.

While the primary focus of the SRO is on prevention and deterrence, the SRO conducts investigations on school-related crimes.  Although under the direct supervision of the La Verne Police Department, the SRO is considered a member of the school faculty and as such, works closely with the school principal and officials to determine the best course of action to be taken to resolve problems on and around these campuses.

The ultimate goal of our SRO program is to maintain and improve the safety of the learning environment at schools through education and prevention of crime at La Verne schools.
